Would love the stuff, but at this point in life I cannot justify spending the same amount on a camo jacket that I spent for my bow. More power to you guys that can.

Had never heard of SITKA gear at all, but just left their website. I really like the look of the jacket and how well its designed. I could never convince my wife that a $350 jacket was something I needed. Hell I couldn't part with $350 for any piece of clothing. If it ever comes in the $150 price range I may jump on board.

I know and I think it's great stuff and I think KUIU will be top dog in the future but for now I think Sitka has the edge.

I looked at them both throughly before my CO elk hunt last year and my buddy went with the KUIU and had a few issues.
I do like their patterns though.

KUIU down jackets and vests are fantastic though. Very warm and compact.

Sitka really is great clothing! They have so many different options, from hunting in warm weather to cold, it doesnt matter sitka has it. It is high priced, but sitka you dont need to replace anything! I have a jacket from when they first started out in that wingmoth camo i believe it was called... About 4 yrs later its still like new, never had a problem with them. Now thats he only gear i use for hunting. Love their optifade open country camo sitka has, thats what im decked out it since it came out. Also get 40% off, so deff only camo ill wear, the best and also what id buy even if i had to pay full price. :)

I love my Sitka clothes. I had been wearing 90% jacket and pants which I love. I got a Fanatic Jacket last fall and it is by far the best piece of clothing I own. I didn't get the Fanatic bibs because I am not a bib fan. I will stick with my 90% pants.

used it until several pieces feel apart (zippers) after one season of guiding, good idea but grossly overpriced and marginal real world durability. Sounds like the tree stand stuff is ok, won't use it anymore for elk or sheep. Have a couple Kuiu pieces and some Kryptic, we will see.

I went to their website to check it out and I've gotta say, Aww hell NO! They want 600 bucks for just the coat. I thought those other brands @ 150-200each for coat/pant was ridiculous but 600 for juat a coat? They are way too expensive. I bought/buy all my camo on sale.(mostly 30-50% off)

Thats the most expensive coat they have and it's for extreme wet and cold weather.

Bet they could sell it for half that or less and still make 500% profit.
Are they at least made in the USA?

Not made in the usa to my knowledge. You make a lot of assumptions on their profit margin.

High end anything cost more. In most cases, the low end doesn't compare. If you want high end, you pay for it. Simple as that and there are those willing to.

I won't be buying a $550 coat in my foreseeable future but that's my choice. If someone wants/needs one, more power to them.

Byt I will be getting the fanatic series soon.:D

The Sitka fanatic jacket is the bees knees as far as design goes. Love the look of that thing. In fact, I'm trying to talk Predator into designing a jacket similar to that one.

Or sell sitka the right to the Predator camo pattern. I think that Predator camo would be a great new pattern to compete against Kuiu's camo.

They most likely don't want it. They have exclusive rights to optifade. Arguably one of the best patterns on the market. (As is predator) but I would imagine they are locked in with optifade.

I agree and own enough of the Sitka that I wouldn't change but that predator and KUIU patterns I prefer more.

GORE, the designers of Optifade, own Sitka. We will likely never see a pattern change.

MynewZXT, crawl out of your hole before you make anymore assumptions, please. Your coming off as an idiot. Apparently you do not grasp the concept of price levels and offerings?

And apparently you don't understand the concept of f#$%ing people over for no good reason. price levels and offerings? I gave @ church. They have every right to charge whatever they want but the price is ridiculous. It's just greed, I'll bet they don't have 30 bucks in that coat. The only people coming off as idiots are the ones willing to bend over and buy that camo. Some people have more money than common sense.

I'm never going to own a coat that cost almost as much as my bow. I think 250 bucks is the most Ive ever spent for a coat and it was 100% leather. If that makes me an idiot then so be it. I have another word for it.

Your obviosuly not grasping my point. That $600 coat you looked at is the top of the line. Their lower end offerings start in the $200's.

Yes, it is a lot of money, but until you have worn the garments do not knock them. This is purpose built archery hunting gear. No, it may not fit into your hunting lifestyle/budget, but I can promise you that if you spent a week with me in the country I hunt you would be begging for some loaners.

The only idiots are the people willing to bend over and buy it? Perhaps my checking account doesn't know I have more money than brains? I don't much money, I work retail bub, its called knowing what in the hell works and settling for nothing else.

$30 in the coat? Now I know you have never looked or even researched the materials they use. Welded seams, wind stopper, 4 way stretch. It all adds up.

    Sit down.
