I was finally able to make a trip to bass pro (on my way to watch my daughter dance at college) to actually put my hands on the fanatic jacket and bibs. I might have to pull the trigger on this set with some of my tax money. My other clothes are shrinking as I get older;) and my son is growing into mine so I can kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

I will probably get the marino wool or traverse base to go with them for now. Then build the system from there. I really like the concept they have with the layers.

I think your right. Price is high but so is every other top brand out there.

Sooooo what's the advantage? Cuz its 3 times the cost of the scent blocker I use now...that's hard to justify lol

Top of line fabrics, athletic cut for bowhunters(no more armguards for bulk), and gear that works with you, not for you. It's really something that cannot be put into words. You simply have to try the stuff

For me it's less bulk, lighter weight and better camo.

I dont think the comparable clothing is a 3rd of the price either.

Didn't say comparable...just ment the clothes I currently use that I have no issues with. Going from what was listed, ill stick with what I have personally. Maybe if I spent most time stalking I would need more compact clothes or somethin. But, glad it works for you fellas! Nothin wrong with that at all.

I meant scent blickers colder weather stuff is not a 3rd of the price.

I do quite a bit of walking to and from stands. I Can't stand lots of bulk with my clothing.

Not sure how much their cold weather stuff is but I looked at their normal wear and it was over $300 each for jacket and pants...if I remember right. Scent blocker that I have is $100. My scent blocker jacket, although not that good and will be upgrading, was $150.

Sitka's Fanatic Jacket and Bibs the best tree stand clothing I have owned in 20 years of bowhunting. Nothing has come close to keeping me warm yet still agile and not overly bulky. The fit and function are super.
I have also used there open country line for pack in elk and Mule deer hunts and on a caribou trip as well.
I have owned scent blocker, scent Lok, cabelas and other brands and I really don't think they are as good as value as my Sitka gear.

There are a couple other companies making excellent technical clothing as well, first lite , kuiu come to mind ad they are excellent products also and priced about the same as sitka.

I hope you're able to pull it off. I'm slowly upgrading my camo but it will be a long time before I pull the trigger on something like that, though it would be very nice to have with how much I hunt away from home.

I have Sitka and am adding more its one of the best out there. Kuiu and first lite are also just as good in my opinion. I went with Sitka since I get 40 percent off.

I know im a little different than most hear as i hunt with shotgun and dogs the last 2 months of the deer season. With that being said, i wear whatever really, mostly carhartt and the like. But i do love bow hunting for the first 1.5 month, buts it warm weather here.

I also hate bulk, but i can deal with it a little more hunting the way i do compared to most of you. I have not been able to try sitka, but i do have a couple of kryptek piece.... They are a little pricey and not bulk what so ever. They are well made and pretty good warmth with layering or as a outer layer with a shirt underneath if its anything above 40ish.

You get what u pay for, but you also buy what you can afford and justify buying... Get the best

Sitka is great stuff no complaints but the cost. Kuiu is also great but I'm sticking with the Sitka, I think their a little ahead of Kuiu still.

I get my marino wool from minus 33 though. Look for the close out stuff.

I travel quite a bit for work, and when I have down time I usually find a Cabelas or Bass Pro to visit. I've literally been to around 10 different bass pros and Cabelas stores now in the last two years looking to see Sitka in person and I can't find any. I like the looks of it, but at it's price tag you want to make sure your getting the right sizes and exact tpes of garment you need before spending the $$$.

And yes, I like the looks of Kuiu as well, their camo looks like it would be much more effective in the places I hunt.

I know what you mean. The bass pro I visited was the one in clarkesville indiana ( just north of louisville ky) they had a few pieces but not a full set of anything I was looking for. The sizes were the main reason for wanting to see it in person and im still not sure. The bibs they had were a large and just fit but not sure if I can layer under it and they didnt have an extra large to try and it was about the same story with the jacket.

Gander here has a few left over pieces on clearance from when they carried it but not what I want or my size.

Kuiu, is excellent stuff but its mostly designed for someone highly mobile in mountainous terrain....not really suited for long hours on the stand.

For the sizing issue....I generally order two sizes if I feel I am on borderline and then just send the other one back. For the most part I have found Sitka to be true to size or just a little bit small...pretty typical with technical clothing hunting and otherwise.
