So I went and changed cards and had a nice eight a spike and about 100 does on cam along with a 1000 pics of horses. They found my mineral site and both piles of corn I put out. Has anyone hunted around horses before. I need some tips on keeping them away from the mineral and corn. I just hope all the doe's bring in the bucks during the rut. This is new land to me this year I know their there because I watch them in the field across the road while I drink coffee on the deck in the mornings
Well you could be like me. I have a nice little spot in the suburbs that I could aways see a couple deer and was good for taking a doe for some meat in the freezer. I put over 100 lbs and 2 jars of peanut butter and have 0 pics of deer, 4 raccoons, and 6 kids walking by.
What I would do is put the camera on a trail and not on a bait pile. Find a good set of tracks and let it sit for a couple of weeks.
I have on on the mineral and one on a trail most of the active is on the mineral just don't no what to do to keep the horses out of it and the corn
Camera action I'm having the opposite problem. I've seen 5 does that I can tell and at least 25 different bucks. Lots of smaller ones but 4 good ones. Gonna be a good time, but a bit worried if there aren't any does hanging out.
