So I was sitting in my stand on my cousins land over the weekend and had my bow hanging on my Gorilla swing out bow hanger. I happened to look at my arrow that I had nocked and it didnt look right. I thought maybe it was a shadow so I ignored it. Well as it got darker, the spot never changed. So I looked a little closer and notice a flat spot on my arrow. I pulled the arrow and inspected it further, and noticed there was also a 2 inch crack in the carbon running paralell with the arrow. I was relieved that I had not shot that arrow as it could have turned out really bad. I no longer got the arrow changed and a big doe came in behind me, unfortunately I wasnt able to pull off a shot on her as she busted me on the draw. I guess all things happen for a reason..please check all your gear before and after every hunt. This includes, stands, hangers, straps, etc..not just your bow and arrows..too many people neglect checking the rest.
