Well this night turned out to be golden. It all went down about a mile from my house. Gotta love Iowa.

I was confused too! The second arrow was stuck in the ground amidst a huge pool of blood, so I thought it had actually hit him too. But it turned out it was just cause it deflected on a branch and went under where he was standing, while bleeding from the first shot. First shot hit him on the back edge of his lungs and came out the bottom of his chest. Second shot deflected on a branch and missed entirely. Third shot hit him straight up the front leg, blew thru one shoulder and barely poked out of the second shoulder; stayed inside the hide on the opposite side. That’s the one that dropped him.
