when i got my bow, my uncle turned the weight down a little bit below sixty, and now i want it up to sixty, but idk how much i need to turn the bolt, any help?
I'm pretty sure it all depends on the bow. Do you know how much under 60 your bow is? I would try doing one turn on each limb and pulling it back to see how it feels. If you want more weight than go another turn. Just make sure that you are tightening each limb exactly the same amount.
Go slow. Turn top limb bolt say half a turn. Then turn the bottom bolt half a turn. Do this until you reach where you want it. Keep track of what your doing so the top limb bolt has turned the same amount as the bottom. The thing to avoid is turning the top bolt say 3 or 4 complete turns, the go to the bottom. Your don't want one limb bolt "way ahead" of the bottom limb bolt.
Easy....a bow scale. Go to a pro shop and see how much it is. I would also suggest cranking your poundage to the max so you have a starting point. AND then turn each bolt simultaneously and equally to your desired poundage.
Why is it that you want your bow at exactly 60? For me personally, I want my bow as high as I can get it where I can still draw it back nice and smoothly without added movement and am still able to hold it for a while.
just take it to a pro shop and let them do it b/c too much could cause alot of problems mainly the bow coming apart or stripping your bolt threads. good luck to you!
