I did this when I switched from a mechanical head to g5 strikers a couple years ago and it worked like a charm...one minor adjustment to my rest and the arrows where hitting the same with field points and broadheads...at least as far as I could tell
So so true. I laugh and cring at the same time when the few people I do know that bow hunt do this. I am no expert by the way and have only been in archery for just over 3 years. I do however read and apply myself to the sport. Tuning is not that difficult to do and I learned soley on the internet. Most of these people I speak of have been hunting many many more years then I have and I am the one helping them tune their bows. It makes me feel good about it, but scares me at the same time. Bottom line is I agree with you that many many bowhunters just flat out don't know that there will be any difference between broadheads and fieldtips. I enjoy taking the time to tell them and show them the right way.
I switched to a fixed blade this year also and I went with the NAP Thinderhead Razors. They did fly a little different than my field points out at around 30yd. They hit low and left by only about an inch to an inch and a half though. I moved my rest just a touch and bam right back on. I changed my whole set up. Rest, stabilizer, broadheads, and fletchings. I went with NAP Apache rest and 8" stabilizer, Thinderhead Razors and NAP QuickFletch. It works amaizingly well. I can't wait for the season to open.
