So i drew the month of November to hunt 100 acres that's owned by the city...they allow ten guys to hunt per month...yesterday was the first day I was able to set foot on the property hunting. I have been on the west side and knew that the property is real thick and brushy but opens up once you get to the bottoms. There are trails cut all the way to the bottoms for access so its a quiet walk to get there. I got all the way down to the bottoms found a really good looking trail with a lot of buck tracks. Got ready to set up only to see a ladder stand 20 yds away from me. So i move west another 100 yds and find another stand! I backed up the hill a bit to stay off these guys area in case they showed up and set up...saw one shooter running through the bottoms where I originally wanted to be. I'm wondering if i should just move east and look for a less pressured area or stay put and hope that hunting through the middle of the week I won't be messing up those other guys. Problem is I'm in my climber so i can't really stake a claim to an area...never been on the east side but it is pretty much the same kind of terrain, go down the hill behind the dam at the lake and it opens up to bottom ground. 10 guys on a hundred acres seems like a lot to me. Is there something special about the land? i.e. big bucks, deer numbers, etc.? Me personally, I would move on. I hate seeing other hunters in the woods.
It's loaded w deer...only opened it to hunting a couple years ago. And there are some good deer on it. I have never seen all 10 guys there at one time. But it could happen. Some of them draw the permit and don't even hunt. Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk
