Well with summer nearing the end comes weather changes. And along with this comes Deer rotation with the crop fields changing. It wont be long and the batchelors we are watching as well as Does will be rotating them selves as the beans brown and the corn becomes prime for the picking/eating :d Im anchious this season to hunt some new property i aquired last season, because the crops will be more in my favor this season surrounding it. Any one else got the crops in favor of your tactics for this season??

As soon as I get my food plots planted, the crops will be in my favor. I disced up some of it yesterday getting ready to plant. This is the first year I get put in food plots on my hunting ground. Except for the little one in my back yard. Gonna be exciting trying to get the deer to move where I want them and seeing if my plans work out.

I just passed on some out of the way public land that has beans & corn planted next to each other. think I'll go & talk to the farmer & see if i can't access that buffet & pick up some venison.

In 2004, I had a GREAT season, as far as seeing some great bucks, unfortunately, it was a LEARNING season for me as well. I learned more from the mistakes of that season than any ever. Bought a rangefinder, learned to practice nearly straight down shots, etc. The property where I had opportunities at 2 SLAMMER bucks is in beans again this year for the first time since 2004, which gets me EXCITED as all get out. Those deer funnel away from that field, right into my lap when that big field is in beans, vs. being in corn, so I'm excited as all get-out about that place. I also am putting a stand in another spot that I hunted last year where I had a nice 150-ish 10pt walk up on me and blow me out. I couldn't get into any of the trees on that property with my climber, so here in the next week or two, I'm putting a chain on over that same travel corridor with hopes of meeting him again, only from 18ft above, rather than at eye-level like last year!!!

Good Luck to all of you guys, hope to see a few dozen BOONERS get kllled by us here!!!

I think I've added too much cover on my place. I have only seen 2 good bucks since June. Dang beans are so high you can't see them in them anymore and my grasslands are also too tall and thick. Good thing really, but I like to complain:deer:
