Do any of you change what you eat during hunting season in order to emit less scent and odor? Farts and all.
I mean, it seems like a good idea, right? Like eating only salads and vegetables and drink only water vs. a night out at Chi Chi's for example.

The only thing that changes for me is when I eat, I eat earlier and later now instead of whenever I want

I eat a lot more junk food in the fall mostly from being in tractor and layout blind though.

The only thing I do differently is, I snack on apples a lot more in the stand and blind. I figure if the deer do get a whiff of what I'm eating, it might as well be something they would want to eat too.

Thanks for the replies. Just something I had been wondering about. This will be my first season out and I really want to get at least one deer. Great idea with the apples, Celtic Viking.

The best thing you can do in the stand to succeed is to move as little as possible

No. I'm starting to wonder if this idea of becoming scent free is getting a little out of hand..?

Who the heck has time to eat when it's deer season??? :bash:
In all honesty... I don't change anything food wise - just the times that I eat change.

yeah.. I dont' eat as much LOL

seriously... when I am home I snack and watch tv.. but when I'm hunting, especially the main farm.. I will get up, have a coffee and maybe a snack, then hunt for 4 hours plus, come up, eat a can of soup and crackers for lunch and diet dew. Take a nap, get up hunt the evening, then come back and eat a sandwich. Then sleep, repeat the next day

My best friend tells me " I always know when hunting season is on, you lose weight " LOL

I eat nothing but corn, soybeans, apples, and molasses so I emanate the smells deer love...that's a joke. I do not change anything except for the times I eat on days I am hunting.

    This.

I never would have thought to even switch foods. Sheesh. Guess you'll need one of these with built in scent blocker next...

I do change my eating habits...

-Part is due to only apples and water allowed in the stand (5 hour energy is emergency use only)
-I already started when I lost all the weight but I limit my red meat consumption as it causes more greasy skin and oils equaling more potential for scent.
-I also take chlorphyll (liquid) for the month leading up and during.
