    HIKING, HUNTING, TICKS, DEER AND YOUR HEALTH.

    A free, open to the public information meeting sponsored by Allerton Park, City of Monticello, DeWitt-Piatt Pubic Health, Illinois Department of Public Health and the Land Conservation Foundation.

    Linn Haramis from the Illinois Department of Public Health will speak on tick borne diseases such as Lyme’s disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, Ehrlichiosis and tularemia.


    Nohra Mateus-Pinilla, University of Illinois. Illinois Natural History Survey and Agricultural Animal Care and Use Program will speak about the current perspectives on Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease (EHD) in deer.


    Michelle Green, Visiting Research Assistant Professor, Department of Animal Sciences and Illinois Natural History Survey will talk about Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) in deer in Illinois.

    The event is free and open to the public . It scheduled for Wednesday, September 9 at the Monticello Livingston Center Building at 200 E. Livingston in Monticello from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.
