Illinois does not have deer, you must have us confused with with Kansas:poke: I would check out the state ground around Clinton Lake. Lots of big deer, just have to put in the work.

I would go to the Illinois DNR site and research the public hunting sites. Most have a free parking permit pass you can print out. Most places make you take a antlerless deer before you can take a buck. Tons of information about the sites and each site's rules. Clinton and Shelbyville lakes seem to be your biggest options?

I would also look at middlefork state park. It is about 30-40 minutes east of Champaign just off of I-74. I know several guys who take good deer every year out of that park. Just like any public ground you need to do some research and study maps.

Was just wondering if anyone had been out on the Illinois State Grounds at: Lake Clinton, Lake Shelbyville or Lake Sangchris??? am I missing any great ones in this part of the State? I will be bowhunting Fort Daniel, just southeast of Decatur in December. I won a lottery permit there.
