Here is our deal. We have decided to put in 4 acres of food plots this year and we have some neighbors of questionable reputation to say the least. We live 90 minutes from our cabin so it's not realistic to watch the place 24/7 but we simply can't afford to be naive with the local clowns. We have a bunch of cams already. What we are hoping to do is basically keep the place under surveillance for idiot trespassers but also save on gas by not having to drive out every time we want to see the pics. Anyone know of a good camera that sends pics instantly to a phone or email?? Thanks
While I don't personally own one. I have heard nothing but good about the DLC Covert special ops cameras http://www.dlccovert.com/product-specialops.html New for this year is the Special OPS code black. I have the Black camera but not the Special OPS one and love it.
I have been looking into buying a few similar cams, but all the ones I have looked at require a data plan and work off a cell signal. My question is how will these work if you can't even get service on a cell phone? I have yet to find someone that gets even decent cell service on the property.
If there is no cell service, I'm not sure any of the current broadcast cameras will work. Blessings.......Pastorjim
I think this is the next step in a growing market, cams are going to start leaping forward like the cell phone market as the phone company's get involved and you may even see cams by leading smart phone company's in the future. That's my own perception of the markets future it may take 5 years but as money starts growing for cell phone use the market will grow. I would have never thought my family would have 5 smart phones in my house or 3 computers running at the same time. But here we are
I was looking at some cams the other day and they already had a cam you can buy with a sprint tmobile or at&t plan. Dont remember who makes them though Sent from my SGH-T959 using Tapatalk
I have great cell service...............neighbor has a tower on his land. Not sure if Verizon uses these networks though.
Try the Scoutgard SG550M-8M and MG582-8M. They are the second generation of wireless cameras and have Long Range detection and illumination. chck here: http://camera4life.com http://everest1stop.com
If cell service is going to be a problem, I have one thing to say about that......RECONYX HC 600. Put the cam up about 15ft in a tree then angle it down. I know you said about saving on gas but the Reconyx will catch them every time, then you will have a boat load of evidence to take to the law. Also try a decoy camera in front of a real camera, totally takes their attention away from the real cam. BTW....Spy Point makes a cellelar cam. www.spy-point.com
1 RECONYX HC 600 $540.00 Most the other top of the line camera are sub $300. One can do a lot of driving on $240.00 in fuel. I'm not saying RECONYX doesn't make a good camera. I am saying they have priced themselves out of the market. EG: You don't buy a $500,000 house in a neighborhood where the comparibles are averaging $300,000.
I have those other top of the line sub $300 cams. Believe me, they don't even come close to the Reconyx. Price is the only downfall but it's worth paying knowing you WILL catch your trespasser.
Cell service is NOT a problem for me at all. We get a full strong signal because a neighbor has a tower on his land. I'm a little confused on some of the cams listed so far as they seem network specific or require sim cards or new lines on a cell plan?? I get great cell service in the woods.......what camera will email or text me pics instantly..........if any???
None of them will unless you add another cell line. Think of these cameras as being cell phones that send pictures.
Unless you have a computer within 1 mile of it. If you don't, then you need this..... http://shop.buckeyecam.com/store/product.php?productid=16334&cat=276&page=1
Most of those cameras run off of ATT or Sprint plans because they require a SIM card. I personally have a Scoutguard SG580M and love it. Batteries last forever. I'm almost up to a year on Energizer Lithium batteries. They came out with a new updated model that sends full resolution pictures instead of the lower res images.
You might want to check out the new Scoutguard SG550M-8M and MG582-8M, both of which ae Long Range cameras and have both MMS and GPRS transmission mode. They'll also have a black IR version for these two models soon.
Now, long range black IR wireless cameras are available at: http://www.everest1stop.com/ SG880MK-8M adds native solar charger support so to allow year-round operation, support both MMS and GPRS transmission mode, and the tranmitted picture has a size of 800x600 (always). Oh, check the picture quality and forget even your digital cameras.
