Has anyone else tried this GPS App? downloaded the free version and it works pretty well. I just turn it on, turn the phone off and put my phone back in my pocket. Turn the phone back on when I leave the stand and follow the trail back to where it started. Basic but simple. There is a higher quality version if you want to pay for it.

I am still learning how to use it. This part of it is great... plus I was able to keep track of a family member of my music minister's surgery while working.

That's how it begins. You start using it with good intentions, then next thing you know you start leaving it on in the stand. Then you download a book. Then a game. Then you're a cell phone addict like everyone else :D

Yes I use Trimble GPS. It is an awesome gps, for smart phones. I went a head and bought the subscription for the map package, I have used it in the national forest and it really has saved my hide " two times." I used the blood tracker once on a doe that ended up being close to a half mile from the shot location and the information and satellite images helped me find her. Awesome technology. I get down in some hills and hollers with no cell service, and as long as I have an open shot at the sky, the phone will pick up satellite with no problem and start tracking your location.

What do you get extra with the subscription?

With the subscription you get to download overlays for your maps like county lines and logging maps. It does track you from point A to B and sync them to Trimble.com and I think you can email them from there, I'm not sure about google earth I haven't messed with it to much in that aspect. I'm pretty sure there is a way because every hunt I close out of it sends all the info to the computer web base. It is a handy little tool.

I use it for everywhere I hunt! It's awesome. Helps a lot on public land, when it's dark in the morning.

Looks like they have updated it since last time I signed in, and yes you can send tracked hunts to Google earth, and some other high tech stuff...

I used it with my Google Maps today. I could only get the trail to show up since I had no cell-reception. I just opened Google, went to the place I wanted to hunt but let the GPS build my trail. I know that probably isn't the idea. I still had GPS which is all I really need. It brought me out the exact trail I went in on.
