Not sure but being a viking fan you are 10 ply soft you should be very concerned you have higher odds of experiencing joint failure long before you will ever see a Lombardi in Minnesota.
Maybe do a quick google search for the word "Fentanyl" That should give you enough headlines to realize it's a very dangerous drug and real problem in this country.
Gotcha, The vast majority of problems are from illicit production and distribution not prescription. I can see how there can be confusion. Instead of importing heroin they are creating a synthetic opioid locally. Unlike heroin fentanyl is a medication that may have legitimate uses in medical practice.
Yeah, there's lots of opioid based medications out there. Some of which are highly abused as well. Fentanyl is so dangerous because it's so potent and addictive.
The fellas and I rolled up a car a few months ago. Driver arrested so we tow the car. During the inventory search we find a couple thousand heroin/fentanyl baggies. Immediately put on all our gas masks and protective gear. Decon everything and closed the doors. If just one of those bags ripped open, we could have all been dead. What a horrible chemical. The problem is that it is a very addictive drug and if your doctor prescribes it for more than a year your body becomes dependent on it. Big pharma is just scared that some random Joe is going to be able to produce his own medication. Now that we created fentanyl it is on the streets and kids are dying from it. Gotta love our country.
I'm not sure I'm following the connection to "big pharma"?? From what I have been reading the stuff causing all the problems is stuff made and sold on the streets. It seems like the biggest connection is in name (fentanyl) only. I understand opioids can be addicting and you can withdrawal from them just like alcohol but its not as dangerous as alcohol withdrawal from my understanding.
Big Pharma created two generations of addicts with Oxyontin, an entirely too powerful narcotic. At the turn of the century, a $2 co-pay for someone on Medicaid got them Oxy worth hundreds of dollars worth on the street. The fed gov has since made it harder to get Oxycontin prescribed. They mean well, but all that has done is send pill addicts on the street for cheap and plentiful heroin (cut and "diluted" with Fent). Deadly as hell. Big Pharma has a hand in the heroin renaissance. Big time.
How do you think most people are exposed to opiates? They get hooked on scripts! Most fentanyl in distribution is illegally purchased on the dark web or smuggled from Mexico. The vast majority of heroin in US distribution is heavily cut with fentanyl...even cocaine is beginning to be laced with it. Fentanyl (and its cousin carfentanyl) are 2 of the most addictive dangerous drugs in the world.
OK not sure I'm buying the big pharma is the boogie man connection but we can all agree its a problem. Sorry for the highjack Soto. I hope your hip gets better.
