Had a problem last year with someone taking the bottom off all of our ladderstands then last year I chased 2 people off opening day of rifle. Because of this I take the longer back way in every time I hunt there because they use railroad tracks to access the property from the rear. Fast forward to this morning I climb down and take the back way out and see the same red Ford from the previous year so I circle around and park up the road a little ways and call the land owner who happens to be a LEO we sit there for about 20 mins and.they come walking.out we stopped them and ask what they were doing they said they had permission to hunt this land and were doing some last min scouting, I guess since muzzle opens here Thursday. Well we all know they don't have permission its only me, the owner, and his father, but they only gun hunt. So while we were waiting on the warden we took down all there information etc. The warden ended up giving them a citation and they will most likely have to go to court. After all that was taken care of I took a walk they laid out cat eyes and had there trees picked out!? It really amazes me the nerve some people have to just walk on someones land thats posted with signs and paint and think they can get away with it!
I'm glad you caught them! It makes me mad that there are people out there, breaking the game laws and trespassing private lands without permission. They deserve to go to the court and hopefully, they will have their licenses taken away.
That's great. I remember one time at a Maryland check station near my house there were to police there dressed in camo. They were laughing and reviewing some video off a camera. The police had permission to hunt this large private farm that no one else could hunt. The leaves were off the trees and visibility was good. They had been hunting 2 adjacent fields with a big hedgerow separating them. They're sitting in their stands talking to each other on radios. "Hey Bill, what's that in the hedgerow between us"? "let me check with my binos. OH, it's a poacher hunting on the police lease". LOL So they video the guy in his tree as they walk up. Ask him what he's doing. Well of course he said he had permission. They had identified themselves as police and the caretakers of the place. They even took a video of his license. LOL Come to find out, they had got him the year before bowhunting in a closed park illegally. They were laughing up a storm. I pointed out to them that the poacher and I had the same name, David Miller. LOL I was prettier though. At the time there were 7 David Millers in the phone book. They said this guy showed up like neon light with the leaves gone in this thin hedgerow...... but he still figured he could get away with it. He had parked in a little league baseball park and walked in about 700 yards with his climber on his back.
I despise people that don't respect others, and/or their possessions. Nice work. Brought to you by our friends at trespasserssuck.net
It was on the outskirts of Ellicott City. I forget the name of the farm. It was 2000 acres owned by some German I believe. It was surrounded on one side by houses. It's now surrounded on all sides by million dollar houses. It's on Route 144 just off Route 40. The guy walked in from Kiwanis Park little League complex..
That getting the law involved takes to much time/effort! I'd have just burned their truck....problem solved....Thats just me! I regress.....
Good job. Ifin you need some help patrolling the place, well.......................................................
Always glad to hear this. I chased down a trespasser a couple years back. He was caught and some heavy fines were imposed. The Va Dept of Game even sent me a $250 reward for helping. It was the least they could do...I made them a lot of money that day. :D
I too am glad that you caught them. I had the same problem last year. I walk in to my spot and find two chairs behind an old packing crate that I used as a ground blind. To make a long story short.... I found out who it was and they don't come around anymore. No violence involved, tresspassing with a firearm in Florida is a felony.
