There are a few stands that I hunt that are near cattle pastures. Has anyone tried hanging some hunting clothes (not carbon) in a barn with cattle and then worn that clothes in the stand? It seems like if I took a scent free shower, that the cattle odor would be a great cover scent.
I would be careful with that approach, especially if you have stands that aren't near the cattle. I've seen deer spook when they cut my tracks & smelled sheep, when there shouldn't have been any sheep in the woods.
I have hung around my buddys dairy farm while he was milking, wearing my hunting boots, then hunted a spot where there wasn't any cattle a few days later. The deer crossed my path and acted as if it were completely normal. It is a good tactic.
i have a peice of property that is all cow pastures, and we have never seen a deer in the pastures. they always go around it?
