I hunt a heavy timbered 160 acre piece of land, and I bait/mineral site is in a small meadow. the land owner has recently moved cattle back into the piece, only about 30 head of cattle.. this is not the first time they have grazed here, but will they push the deer out, I assume they will start hitting my mineral site, hopefully not too much,
In my experience deer typically avoid areas where cattle are grazing while the cattle are out. That's not to say they wont come right back once the cattle leave.
Depends on the location. In the midwest i think the cattle is a major deterrent to deer use. I havent had the same experience in texas and some western states. Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk
They cows will not push the deer out. I hunt a cow pasture and has cow walk by me followed by deer. It seems like He cows will walk by you and the perfect time of day and just stand there. I take a few golf balls and throw at them when they stand there. They usually move right along when you hit them with the golf balls.
It depends. As a rule I think deer will avoid cattle...BUT..my best farm happens to be an active cattle pasture, so it's not set in stone. Best thing to do is run cameras to see how deer react to cattle presence and adjust your hunting accordingly
