I play a little but like a couple others have said you don't have to have your head glued to the phone screen the entire time. You have the app up and you can walk around town and if something is close then it will vibrate. You catch it then continue you. You guys are getting but hurt about kids on the phone outside when you're sitting on here complaining about them. Lol There is always going to be something to complain about. One day it's politics next it's a new app, tomorrow who knows. I just stopped worrying about most stuff and do my own thing. :tu: ..... Is it deer season yet?

How many hours do you spend sitting in a tree, motionless, waiting for a deer? A lot of people think that is also a colossal waste of time and resources. Not everyone shares the same interests in recreation. It's their free time to do what they choose.

In my mind, sitting on the sofa every weekend watching sports is no life. But, lots of guys do it.

Gotta love the people who bash the people playing the game because they have their face in their phone... While complaining about it with their face in the computer screen.

"Not having a life" is the worst explanation of what these people are doing. They do have a life... And they are happily playing this game. I'm sure many complaining spend hours each weekend with their face in the TV watching football, Nascar, etc.

Well, I think their time could be better spent. Read a book, learn a skill, hone a talent.

I had a set of boy scout merit badge manuals from the early 1900's. Man, the skills those kids learned was amazing.

Still, I'm not really seeing a big downside to the Pokémon game. I work for an emergency room. ;)

I think all of us could spend our free time on things better spent. The game is just another form of entertainment.

People like to play a video game. We like to hunt. I can't bash someone for having different hobbies than me, no matter how crazy they might seem.

Man we can be a judgmental group of people... Im all for the app personally. Yes there are some people that get addicted and act dumb but what difference are they to Ted Nugent? Every hobby has their outliers but as far as video games goes, I sure like kids walking around outdoors than playing call of duty all day on the couch and getting de-sensitized to violence.

Who knows, maybe they will take up geo caching after this fad goes away

I would agree with you Christine that there are better things they could be doing, but I think the point is they will play video games either way. I view it as a step in the right direction

I already said I think it's good if it gets people up and out.

I'm just not going to pretend that it's a constructive use of time for the majority of players. ;)

Whether your for or against it, the positive side is it's getting a lot more people active. Even though they look goofy doing it.

I wouldn't call what anybody said bashing quit being so sensitive. I will admit and I have said it many times the older I get the more stuff I just don't get. Oh sure we tend to mock what we don't understand but I just can't take a kid in a flat brim hat or hipsters serious. I guess ever since they came out with adult coloring books, I keep asking myself what the hell is next?:eek2:

I'm all for the active part, I just wish the idiots would quit standing on the sidewalk in front of me and my neighbors houses, quit leaving their kids alone in the kiddie swing at the park, and quit aimlessly walking around and not being polite pedestrians just to catch a pokemon. I guess it does cleanup the gene pool though, I've seen reports that people have been hit by cars and fell off cliffs while playing this game. Can't blame the game, just the morons who can't function and play it at the same time I guess.

I've been playing and my 2.5 children indicate I am, in fact, a heterosexual.

I'm sure I'll lose interest soon enough, but I enjoy talking walks around the neighborhood with my son in the evenings and catching "Porcupines" as he calls them.

At least you are playing it with your kids Justin...

I belly laugh at the grown folks I see playing it. My kids have no interest in it, at least as of yet. I have no real opinion on the app quite honestly. I have much bigger things to concern myself with. :)

Right, adults playing it with their kids and getting out to walk around is great. As long as they teach their kids not to run out into traffic and teach them how to be respectful pedestrians. It's the teenagers and morons with no regard for other people or their own safety who are the problem.

Its been proven time and time again having kids has nothing to do with sexual preference. Just saying.
