When you are hiking out to your stand, do you carry your bow in a sling around your shoulder or just in your hand? And once you're in your stand do you hang it on a hook or lay it across your lap?

Just trying to make final preparations before Day 1.
    Thanks,
    Aaron

    I carry mine.

Morning walk back to my truck, I nock an arrow just in case :p
Afternoon walk to my stand, I nock an arrow just in case :p

I am standing holding my bow with an arrow nocked for "prime time" hours. Otherwise, I hang mine and take a seat.

Carry it in, lay it across my lap for some setups. Hang it for others. Depends what stand I'm in. I also walk out with an arrow nocked. 3 years ago, I stumbled on a giant 10pt that I could have had a good shot at.

I typically use a bow sling when I'm walking in or out. Once in stand, I hang my bow on a hanger until I see something I want to shoot.

i carry mine, during shooting hours i carry mine with an arrow nocked....used to lay it on my lap, then tried a hook(which i wont do again since having a nice 8 point wlk within 15 yards and i couldnt get the bow off the hook), i bought a stand mounted bow holder this year that looks to be pretty promising. it is mounted on my stand to where my left hand can just slide up and grab the bow as it is sitting in a ready to shoot position

I use the wrist strap as a handle, then knock an arrow and lay it in my lap when I'm in my stand. I always take the quiver off too, helps me shoot more consistently without the extra weight.

I usually carry it in and then hang it and take a seat until the action starts. I will admit that I have been caught off guard before but only a couple of times.

Going to and from depends if I'm climbing or not. If I climb then I carry in my hand but if I'm in a lock on then I use a sling. Either way I always use a bow hanger

We hunt mostly on a Fed Reserve, so we are always packing stands. I carry mine, and I have a summit viper so I just lay it aross the rails.

    In a sling going in...

When sitting, it usually is in my hand and the lower cam is in to top of my left snake boot.. Helps keep the bow up at the right height when I am sitting and I don't have to hold the weight.

When standing, I hang my bow (CLOSE) when tired or when not prime time (I can see a good distance and shoot a good distance, so I usually always see the deer before it gets into shooting range. If not, its because it's to thick which gives me plenty of opprotunity to grab the bow)

Carry it and hang it up once an arrow is nocked. The area I hunt I can hear a deer coming from quite a ways off so I have time to stand up and grab my bow. If it's windy though I'll lay it in my lap.
