How do you guys do it? I have a large backpack that carries the arm, base and handycam...wondering if there is a better way as it doesnt work well w the climber.

i have the bow bat and a muddy outfitter arm, one nice thing about the bow bat is it frees up your hands so u can carry the camera arm in but i also take the arm part off and if you look in the third picture on that forum how he has his quiver held on i actually use that to hold the arm and then just carry the base support

My setup basically consists of a Muddy arm and Sony AX2000 camera with all the accessories (mics, extra batteries, etc).

I use my standard Blacks Creek pack to haul the camera arm. What I do is lash the arm to the outside of my pack. Typically I'll wrap the arm up in my jacket or whatever coat/shirt I'm packing in, put that on my pack, then lay the base down on top of that and lash it all down tight. I wrap the arm in a jacket ot something to keep down the noise of the two metal pieces clanking into one another. I keep the strap for my arm in the water bottle holder, and the rest of the goodies on the inside of my pack.

For the camera itself I use one of these - http://www.graywolfwoolens.com/store/product.php?productid=354&cat=3&page=1

It's basically a one compartment, lined bag that works perfect for holding your camera safety. Put your camera inside, pull the cord tight to close it, then sling it over your shoulder and go on your way.

When I get to the tree I usually climb up with my fanny pack on, but leave the camera on the ground with my bow, attached to my bow rope. Once I get my harness tied on I'll take the base of the camera off, and hang it on a tree screw. Then I'll re-lash the arm down and hang my pack up. From there I strap in the base, then free the arm and put it on, then hoist up my bow and camera and go from there.

sounds like i need to invest in one of those. It looks nice. I always worry about my camera getting messed up in my pack. IM definitely going to look into one of those
