First off, in Wisconsin the only way to legally carry a side arm is open carry. And then you still can get heat. I've read stories in the paper about people openly carrying sidearms and their jacket just covered it up for a second when they bent over and the cop/ranger busted them. There is no Conceal Carry in Wisconsin. But I've never felt like I've needed to even in northern Wisconsin in bear/wolf territory.
I do. I carry when I do a lot of things out doors. There's some real nut jobs that traverse the woods and private ground is not immune to it.
I always carry when I head into the mountains. Hiking and hunting. The only time I might leave it is if my dad is coming with and he has his. If I was in an area that didn't have bears and mountain lions, then I probably wouldn't feel the need to carry all the time. But you just never know, and I like to be prepared.
I do, there has been way too many mountain lion sightings where I hunt. I don't like my chances hand to hand lol
I carry all the time, but especially in the woods. Bears, snakes and wild hogs are no friends of mine.
I have not in the past, but will in the future. I finally purchased the Glock 23 I've been drooling over the last couple of years and should have my GA license this week. I have not ever needed it, but I'd rather have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.
I've never been concerned about 4 legged critters, now those 6 foot tall two legged kind can be very scary! I dont carry while hunting but we do have sidearms in camp while in Colorado as there are some shady folks around.
I have never needed mine, but I have shot a doe with it. I was bow hunting during rifle season, and a doe came real close to me, so I decided to take her with the .44
Just a knife that's all I need,It would have to be the jungle before I would carry a pistol hunting,it's also illegal in Canada.
I carry, and no haven't had to use it yet, however, I'd rather have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.
I carry when I'm in Colorado... I try to go back in as deep as I can, and though I've never had to use it, there was one particular canyon where the skin on the back of my neck was standing up (steep sides, rocky outcrops all over) and I had the thumb restraint unsnapped and my hand resting on my trusty CZ for much of the way.
I like others do carry for the same reasons as needing it and not having one. Also since there has been a rise in mountain lion and wolf sightings around here i do carry one every time i go out and to the mountains, and the simple fact to exercise my given rights.
Most of the time, yes. I probably should all of the time. I have had more run-ins with sow/cub combo bears in the shedding season and early archery season than any other time. Not to mention wolves and lions running these mountains I hunt.
