These are my thoughts on this subject. I think with any "diet" there are two big questions you must answer. First of all is it healthy? I know you can loose weight on these types of diets but what are the long term effects and can you sustain it? The second question would be is this something you can live on the rest of your life? When it comes down to it, it's all about calories in, calories burned. It's just a simple math equation. I lost 90lbs in 10 months. In the next year, even though I wasn't trying, I lost another 20lbs for a total of 110lbs lost. I have now sustained that for four years. Once I got my appetite under control, which took about three weeks, the strong cravings went away. The advantage to simply counting calories is you never deny yourself anything. Whatever you eat just has to fit in your chosen daily calorie count. Now, I never consider myself to be on a diet, although I do continue to track my calories. But that's just my personality. And yes, exercise is important but it only accounts for about 15% of your weight loss. Yes, I do continue to work out regularly but that's because it gives me more stamina and energy. And at my age, 64, that's very important. Good luck to you in whatever you choose to do. As a person who has struggled with being overweight most of my life, I know it isn't easy. Just keep in mind, you will have times that you fail, but don't let one failure keep you from reaching your goals. It is a life-long journey, not a destination. My motto is "Never let a slip become a fall." Best of luck to you on this journey! Blessings.........Pastorjim
thanks this could be a crackpot diet, but I've just been reading a lot of people who have tried it and felt a of of benefits aside from weight loss. Better sleep, less inflammation, increased energy, better exercise recovery, etc. I do know that I have at least some "normal" food allergies so it would stand to reason I have others that I haven't yet figured out. I know grapes, tomatoes, and certain kids of hoppes make my sinuses go crazy- but I still sometimes consume things with those things as ingredients because...well, sometimes I want a certain beer, wine, or pasta sauce- stuffy nose and snoring be damned. I'm going to give it 30 days and see how I feel after that. If things are going well I may add certain things to it like fresh veggies but we shall see. I'm really only depriving myself of fresh veggies, baked potatoes, flour tortillas and the very rare pasta dish. Oh, and beer/wine. Except on rare occasions I already don't really eat sweets or sugar, I very rarely drink pop. So again, we'll see how it works out. Worst case scenario is I get scurvy. Or really bound up.
Eat a big, fat ribeye soaked in butter. You'll be loosened up in no time. IMO the main thread that ties together most of today's diet plans is pretty simple - cut carbs. Whether you look at Keto, Paleo, Carnivore and Whole 30 or go back to Atkins, South Beach, etc the song remains the same. Significantly reduce your carbohydrate intake - specifically sugars, breads and pastas - and you'll lose weight. I love carbs too much to give them up for the rest of my life and as much as I'm adjusting to black coffee I don't particularly enjoy the thought of not partaking in a few pumpkin spice lattes next fall. So I don't plan on sticking to Keto forever, but rather am using it as a way to lose some weight I've otherwise had difficulty losing by simply eating less and working out more. Part of that is I'm simply not disciplined enough to just count calories and this diet is a bit easier to follow in that regard. So far, so good. I'm still 35+ lbs down from where I was at a year and a half ago so I'm happy with that. I think if you can lose weight and keep it off for a full year you're much less prone to gaining it back.
The biggest problem imo that most people have is a yo yo diet. They diet for a month at best loose ten pound and gain it all back. None wants to give up fresh baked bread and butter at mommas. And most people like spaghetti, witch im not a fan of never have been never will be. The main problem we have is we eat WAY to much sugar. The stuff is every wer and in everything we eat. Its hard to make a serious effort to eat right and eat right nit junky for the rest of your life. Justin nothin wrong with pumpkin spice latte drink a couple but 2-3 a day is imo to many Any diet u get on u can loose peoblem is keepin it off and not gaining it back Said like the fat guy i am who has never really dietd in my life and wieghs 300lb. But im given it an honest go this time tryin to gym 3x a week and cut carbs. Havent felt this good for pry 4-5 years and all my bloating and stomach problems are basically gone. No im not lactose intolerance or gluten intolerant or against sugar in fact that my favorite foods but if im gona live good life go elk hunting and not be toasted aftr i hang a tree stand set iv got to do something. Any way il sign off now I believe ive lost 10lbs so far so feelin good Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums

I think the carnivore diet works the same way a vegan diet does. Apart from the glaring and obvious differences between the two diets the way you lose weight on both is simply because you're most likely consuming less calories. I know meat is high in B vitamins, but other than that I'd think you'd fall into a massive mirconutrient deficiency by not eating any fruits or vegetables.
Wednesday recap- breakfast: 1 pot of coffee slightly sweetened with wild honey (can't do it pure black...I need to find some good naturally sweet New Orleans coffee) lunch: 2 cans of tuna with lemon pepper (drained, stored in water) dinner: venison roast slow cooked in chipoltle spices and a can of beer (alcohol cooks out) weighed 218 didn't work out...regular work kicked my butt mentally today. Been typing almost non-stop since about 2pm. nightcap: 2 whiskies, trying to switch off so I can go to sleep...good luck to me on that.
On the days I do not want to workout are the days I force myself to go. I was 220 lbs 6 months ago, I was fat, today a cool 195. Keep at it!!!!!! IT's hard I know, my demon is Coke Cola
Every time I have a sip of Coke I think to myself "What type of human drinks this garbage and enjoys it?" Now I know.
I really like Coke Zero. To me it tastes closest to regular Coke and no calories! Blessings...........Pastorjim Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

Never been on a " diet" but perhaps I should. 5'10" and 215#. I do quit a bit of physical activity though. Not fat, just heavy. Just had a meat shop grind up all my bear trimmings. Got 129# of burger. Been really hitten it hard. Very good meat!
while I almost never drink the stuff anymore since I had kidney problems as a teen (the origin of my general disdain for General Practitioners) I do make exceptions- nothing is better than a tall cold fountain Coke (especially from McDonald's) when I am hungover. Nothing. Almost instantly kills the headache and settles the stomach. If it doesn't work; well then I probably have alcohol poisoning.
Thursday (Day 4) recap Breakfast: 3/4 pot of coffee went to work Lunch: 1/2# of ground turkey home from work weigh in: 217 Dinner 1 large grilled chicken breast 60 pushups
Long day today I will dining in the hotel this evening I am having a whiskey salad with ice croutons for dinner.
