I switched broadheads this year to the grim reapers. Took a doe on opening day and was amazed at the carnage left by this. I have seen deer shot by 12 guage slugs with less damage done. The broadhead went in the right shoulder, mangled a little muscle, took out the top of the heart...(litterally gone) ... and made mincemeat of both lungs. On the pass out of the deer it hit the bone in the left shoulder, and snapped it in half, mangled almost all the meat in the upper shoulder..(a lot of that probably from the 30 yard run she made before she crashed). The arrow was snapped in half and I was never able to recover the broadhead...I'm thinking it was probably stuck out the opposite shoulder and the force of her run snapped it off. I was amazed at the amount of carnage. At least it was a very quick and clean kill.
Sorry no pics...it was just a doe. You can believe me or not, that's your choice. The venison tastes good though.
That's I switched to grim reapers this I saw videos of the what they can do and how fast. I hope to have some feed back like this very soon too lol
???? Just a doe????? DO broadheads work differenlt on bucks? Pics would have added some actual value to this thread.
As the temp was about 60 degrees, I had a bunch of work to do, and I was processing the deer myself, and getting it in the freezer as soon as possible took priority over pictures. I posted this thread as an afterthought. Sorry I didn't get video, and "8x10 color glossy photographs with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one detailing what each one was". This was the first time I had used the grim reapers, and it shocked me the amount of damage it had done. I bought them at an auction, and was leary about going back to a mechanical after some disappointing results using rage. I don't have pictures of that either...they kept getting snagged on everything, and opening while I was in the stand, or walking thru the woods. So I thought I would share what this one had done, to help reassure anyone who was using them that they do work, and really well.
What did you shoot before? My Gator expandables do the exact same thing. I had 4 sliced ribs (2 on each side) and mincemeat lungs.
