The carbon captures chemical molecules. That is what carries scent. I have to say that all the Chem Warfare classes wearing that stuff is enough to make me a believer. It keeps the bad stuff off, or in the case of hunting inside the garmet.
The reason i use it is it just gives me a sense of security that's about it i don't know if it works or not all i know im not paranoid in the stand when something comes down wind. so I just wait till its on sale and i uasally get it pretty cheap any way so price cant be an excuse its just a matter of waiting and looking
I will try to clean this up as much as possible, but until I witnessed the after effects, I didn't believe it myself. I hunt with a very close friend, he NEVER uses carbon suits, wears his work boots, and most of the time goes straight from work to the stand without showering. I decided to join him and his brother-in-law last season for an evening hunt. Long story short, I received the text that Mike (brother in law) had shot a nice 8 pt buck. I went to help in the recovery and as we met at Mike's tree he said, watch out for the pile on the ground. I looked at my friend puzzled, what was he talking about, well, Mike had dropped his drawers, hung his arse over the rail of his climber, and pinched a duece from his stand. I about fell over! I too am fanatical about scent control, Mike stated that everytime he did this he saw tons of deer. A few weeks later on another hunt with the same two, I was within view of Mike's stand and saw him begin to stir, sure enough he was doing it again, and this time within an hour of his bodily release, there were half a dozen doe standing around his location, and none of them were spooked, startled, or even anxious! Never gonna go that far, but as far as the carbon suit, I know for a fact my human odor isn't as nasty as his "pile" below his stand. I still shower and spray down once in the stand, but why spend outrageous amounts of money?
