carbon for clothes

    SO it is known that carbon absorbs moisture, and it got me thinking.
    why not just get some charcoal (the real stuff not briquetts) smash it a little put it in an old sock or something and use it for various things, like storing clothes, putting in boots, etc etc

    why spend big bucks on sprays and what not when charcoal is cheap (could also make your own for free) and the charcoal is supposed to be the best thing to use?

    any comments, or ideas on this?
