What is the difference between the CE Maxima and the CE Maxima "Hunter"? The only thing I see is the "Hunter" model has "built in weight forward". Is there anything else?

Also is it ALWAYS a good thing to have more weight on the front on your arrow? Why and why not? Is the Maxima Hunter ALWAYS superior to the conventional maxima?

The grains per inch on the hunter is a little higher for the same spine meaning an overall heavier arrow which is good for hunting.

You can't really not have more weight on the front of the arrow. The big debate is what is good (for hunting). IMO 12-15% is a good range for hunting for a number of reasons. Less will work too as you will undoubtedly hear but for any arrow I make 12% would be the absolute lowest. I usually have it 17% and up.

Personally I think the weight forward arrow is over hyped. Yes, you want more weight in front, but you can also have to much weight in front. Just do a search and read an FOC (Front Of Center) article and it should explain it in detail. Having the proper amount of weight out front is why broadhead manufacturers originally started offering their heads in different weights.

The Hunter comes with the camo patern, the Maxima is just black.

The Hunters have a slight FOC to start with and when it comes to broadheads that's one aspect of your arrow it would be wise to pay attention to.

IMHO a minimum of 12% for broadheads is a good idea, and I prefer 15% or more. The last couple of years I have hunted with the CX Aramids and they have lived up to all I expected from them.
