i recently bought carbon express piledriver 250s. i havnt shot a deer with them yet but they do go farther into the target than my other arrows. i was also looking at the maximas but i got these due to the cost. did i make a good selection.

Are they any cheaper than Easton's? I'm thinking of getting another 6 pk of arrows since losing one during a sight in.

i think it all depends on the model of eastons you were looking at. which ones were you thinking of getting?

I'm not sure yet. I'm currently using Easton 400 Excel ST's, and I'm using 100 gr field points and the Magnus Stinger BH's. My bow is currently set up at around 50lbs draw weight. Paid around $40 for a 6 pack , I guess you prolly can't do any cheaper and still get good quality can you?

i would say not. probobly the best deal you can get is 12 gold tip trophy taker hp arrows for 50 dollars off of the sportsmans guide gold tip is a good manufacture. me i love the carbon express piledrivers. they might be good on your set up or they might not. they give more penatration which is good.but for a light draw weight they might travel slow and drop too much at longer ranges

I'd stick with a flatter trajectory personally, but then again I'm pulling 70 lbs. Gives you more room for error in yardage judgement with a flatter flight.

yeah i would go with you too in your case if he used the heavier arrrows they might drop to much and not shoot too great at longer ranges

With 50lbs I would think that you will probably want as much KE/momentum as you can get. The piledrivers will help with that. I shoot them and like them. They are a bit heavy, 460gr for me (28" draw) but I am getting a lot of KE out of them and they worked good. Pass through on a mule deer at 45 yards.

I shoot the maxima 250 hunters, they pack some punch and are a very durable arrow!

Thats what your pens are for and they would shoot better at longer distances. Heavier arrows hold the KE longer.
