Beat the heat, ticks and green up looking to match the last fresh moose shed. We head drive and start walking in. I figured the match was down in the swampy part I didn't reach yet. So we are literally ten minutes and I see bone dog make his little circle and stop to scent check the air. I know he is on one and start following. About twenty yards later he stops to scent the air and decides to look at me. I said go get it bone dog. He takes off into the green brush as I follow. I finally watch as he comes to a stop sniffing the ground. I slowly walk up to him knowing what should be laying ahead. As I round the trees I see the match laying tines down. Pick it up and say let's go we done. We get about a mile down the road and something isn't sitting right with me about this shed. I decide to pull over and look at it again. I grab my phone and look at the pics of the previous one. Holy hell its the same side. U turn. Let's go back. Now there are two missing sides. Well. I look maybe an hour with no luck. Till next year now. Way to hot and ticks all over my body He looks frightened lol Oh and it's the biggest of the season. Good ending. If u look at the brows. U can see why I just thought it was the match and left Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I was thinking the same thing, almost looks like the same moose from 2 different years. Great find anyway!
It's hard to say cause the one on the left was right on the wheeler trail and has a super dark back side like it's fresh Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Oh and the bigger has a big fold in it. Unlike the smaller. So I'm pretty positive they both fresh. Too bad I started looking so late. Maybe I'll match em next year Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
