So I just ordered one of these from Campbell's it looks to me like it will be more than adequate for a rookie self filmer like me to get started with. Does anyone on here have one? Any opinions ?

It's an okay camera. It lacks a shoe mount which sucks but there's mounts and brackets to get around it. I have a friend who uses one and it's good for starters but if your like him you'll want to upgrade soon!

The filming bug is a spendy one!

Hmm I must have missed that. So essentially I will need a mount/bracket in order to use it on tripod or camera arm? Guess that explains the bracket in the "package deal" that I didn't order. Lol

You won't need it to mount on the tripod or camera arm but if you want a external mic you will need one. I have the canon HF R30 that I bought to get started and I had to buy the bracket.

It will work for me for a year or 2 until I want to upgrade. Here is a picture of my camera with the bracket and mic. I'll have it at camp so you can check out there too. : tu:

Yep there is a spot on the back of the bracket to screw it on either.
