So my little brother had a Canon EOS Rebel T3i laying around that he hasn't even touched since he has gotten it. So...I kinda took it over it rather than let it go to waste and he said go for it. Figured it would be nice to add a DSLR to my current set up and started playing around with it taking stills and some video and it's not a bad little camera. Just don't have any of the instruction manuals or anything and can't seem to figure out how to shut all the sounds off of it so it is silent and no beeps or what not. Also was wondering if anyone knows how you can get it to power on and off silently. When I turn it on and off you can hear the shutter clicking. I put my mic from my camcorder setup on the T3i and the audio quality was great in the videos I shot, just wish I can get it run silently for a hunting scenario.
    Thanks in advance guys!!!!

Here is a link to the manual. Personally I use custom firmware to make it run silent, I'm not too sure how to do it otherwise.

Thanks for the link man, def going to read through it! What type of firmware do you use and where do you get it? Would you recommend that route?

    Thanks!

I use Magic Lantern. We run it on all our cameras (5Ds,T3is, 60Ds). It's fantastic, although can be difficult to learn how to use, but once you learn, you won't be able to live without it.

That's spot on. If you need any help with it, feel free to PM me. I've written a bunch of modules for it as well, and I'm willing to share them if you might need them.
