I do not know of any remotes that will work with that camera other then the basic remote cannon makes which will not be of much use.

No doubt, that explains why its been so hard to find them and find out more info about them. I appreciate your help! If I cant get a remote I feel its no biggie at this time, at least until I upgrade to better camera options, but this is where I seem to be as of right now as I am new to filming my hunts. Think I am leaning towards the Sony HDR-CX230 anyway. Which I also don't believe will accept a remote, but the controls on it don't seem to look too unmanageable to work while on a camera arm.

As I stated on another thread there is a remote made for Sony camcorders called the Remote Commander that works on my Sony CX110 and I'm pretty sure it will work with the CX230 as long as it has a a/v/r input which I think it does. It would be worth checking out. It has a on/off, zoom, record button and you can even take still pics with it. I am very pleased with mine.

I personally like the canons better. A remote is not necessary but it does help. I didn't have one until this season.

Yea I got the camera last night in the mail and was messing around with it. Doesn't seem to be too bad the way the zoom function is on top of the cam, I think I'll manage with out a remote for a while and see how it goes. Def see how its isn't necessary but would have been nice and easier lol. Next Camera I buy I will make sure it accepts a remote. Thanks for all the input guys, I appreciate it! I'm def excited to start filming and with getting into this whole aspect of hunting and filming!
