Just finished my first batch of peppers for the year.

    Anyone else do any canning?
    Any good recipes?
    Pictures?
    Do share!

I grow pears, plums, and grapes. I make preserves with the latter two, and can the pears.

I usually can a crap load of salsa every summer. Planning another large batch tomorrow for football season.

I also made several jars of pickles.

Peppers, carrots, onions, vinegar. It's that thing that mexicans do, tastes really good with mexican food. My mouth is watering right now.

The girlfriend did red raspberries and blackberries for me. I like to take older venison and can that.

I garden and have fruit trees. I don't can anything, but we blanch green beans.

Wife just passed the two gallon mark of blackberry jam from the land here. She also just started a five gallon batch of wild grape wine. Made 20 gallons of plum mash from wild plums earlier this year.

My mom and dad can a lot of stuff. I've been wanting to learn for years now. I had canned squirrel last weekend and that was awesome. Fell off the bone!

The wife and I canned some peach marmalade, bread and butter jalapeños, blackberry jam, tomatoes, and spiced peaches a few weeks ago.

Spiced peaches+homemade sweet biscuit+homemade whipped cream=almost as good as backstraps....almost

First year for us. Did a batch of peppers (by that I mean my wife) last week. Will have another batch coming soon. Just picked 50lbs of our Roma's and they're on the counter as we speak getting reading for sauce.

I just tried some hot banana peppers I experimented with as my first. Definitely happy with results. Spent some good time this summer establishing a 200x40 garden so planning on doing a lot next year. This year just did enough to have fresh stuff some days but nothing excessive. Hoping to make a good part of our eating from our garden just for healthier eating and always tastes best

    Looks good Hook.

My favorite thing in the world is some good peppers with some cheese and venison on cracker. Soooooo good.
