New to Turkey hunting but planning a weekend hunt with some friends and the weather report is saying 50% chance of rain one day. We all have ground blinds so we can stay dry but will the turkeys come out?
Hunt field edges. Turkeys don't like woods in the rain because they have to rely on sight in the rain. They like more open areas.

Those are areas I hunt midday or evenings. But they can be hunted all the time Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
agree with krohboy, fields best bet in rainy weather it seems. and probably won't hear a whole lot of gobbling.
These are Osceola turkeys which tend to be a little quite anyhow so would it make sense to call to them in the rtain or would that be un-natural?
You can't hunt them from your sofa. There isn't really ever a bad day to hunt. Just days that are better than others.

I shot my bird last spring at 11:59 A.M. after sitting in the rain since daylight. Two days before i called in a nice bird at about 11:00 am just after a long thunderstorm and my gun misfired lol.
I am new to turkey hunting so this does not come with a lot of experience, but for what it is worth we had a lot of rain through out the night with some lightning and thunder. The rain continued during the early morning hours and the turkeys where gobbling like crazy all morning and there where plenty of them out and about. Just as the rain was at its heaviest two toms crest the hill and came into my decoys. about 10 minutes after I shot my tom the sun came out and the gobbles stopped. Don't let the weather man bring your spirits down is the lesson that I learned today!
My best bird came on a morning that it was snowing/sleeting/raining and he was gobbling his brains out... Hunt the openings in the rain.
