Can you age this buck?

There's guys here that like to age deer, or try to, by looking at the body. Can anyone age this one?

 

Hard to tell by that pic. I think facial features tell quite a bit on deer 2.5 or older. I'd say it's not that old, maybe 2.5?

 

Matt, I don't have a lot of pictures of this buck. Here's the best pic I have of his face.

 

The more I look at it, looks like loose skin around his brisket and he obviously has a gut on him. Hard to tell, but I'm guessing he's an older deer, 5.5+.

hey dan what time of year is that first pic from?
If thats around june I would say he is pushing 6 if that is early spring maybe a bit older

 

First pic is from Sept 9th. Only pics we have of him are from Sept 9th through Sept 14th.

 

My guess is a 3 year old, MAYBE 4. He's got a thick neck and a heavy belly. Only thing telling me isn't any older than 4 is their is clear difference between the neck and chest. In the older deer the neck just dissolves into the chest, but that could be because his neck is extended.

 

I have to stand by 6 or your really messing with us and is a pregnant doe lol

 

This deer looks to be atleast 4.5 if not older his next and body are still seperate.

 

I'm going with minimum of 4.5yrs old...

 

i would have to say 3.5 or 4

 

Tough to judge deer on age In early season for me. They look so thin looking to me. To me this deer doesn't have the biggest front shoulders. Younger deer I'd say.

 

i would say 3.5 just because he has a rather short eye to nose....maybe 4.5

short in length and blocky looking. 3.5 year old. Next !!

Im goin with a 3.5, front shoulders are small, not much of a sway in the back.

 

Im going with well fed 2.5

 

I'd guess he is at least 3.5

 

Anyone else care to take a stab? I'll give you the answer in a couple hours.
