Can someone explain to me why Bama is ranked #4 in the CFB playoff poll?

Did you watch the game? Previous games?

Comparing one game where Bama's OL and DL dominated LSU's OL and DL does nothing. Fournette was hit behind line on 13 of his 19 carries. Seriously. He had not room to run all night. LSU's OL just rolled over and played dead most of the night.

I'm looking past stats and overall ability with speed, vision, cutting, etc.

Henry is not as fast as Fournette, nor does he have the same cutting ability. Henry is a one cut back. A very good one, but he has limitations.

I care more about the EE and Fournette comparison, but I still think all 3 are good. I'm not sure how you can look past stats when EE's and Fournette's stats literally mirror each other. We may have different definitions of what a good RB is, but EE and Fournette are virtually built the same and both run with authority so I'm not sure what Fournette has over EE, I'd still like to hear it.

I never said Elliot wasn't good, just not on the same level as Fournette and Cook.

I think Elliot has really good feet, cutting ability and vision, but lacks some top end speed.

What makes Fournette rare is his size with his speed. I've never seen a RB his size with that type of speed.

Yes I watched the game, I watch all Bama games. That was the first LSU game I watched all Season, so I can't really compare other than the stats.
I agree Fournette is probably faster but I believe Henry has more power.

:lmao2: Elliott was a track and field star and runs a 4.32 40 yard dash while Fournette ran it in 4.35. I will give that Fournette did have a 40 yard spread where he hit faster than during a game but I'd argue most players do during a game at some point when being chased and adrenaline kicks in. Ok, so they are the same size and run about the same speed, how does that make Fournette better?

No way do I believe this. Nor do I believe Fournette runs a 4.35.

Well, I guess if you want to ignore facts then I guess there's no reason to debate with you anymore.

Were those HS times? Because its amazing how all these great HS athletes become slower when they get to the NFL combine...

Elliot is a great back... I think he's a notch below Henry and Fournette but throwing him in there is easily argued. Once you get to the top 5 level, it's easy to swap around who you think is better and find points to argue... The level of play is great by all of them and the "best" will change week to week.

I still think Fournette is the best back in the country despite his poor showing against the Bama team. As everyone has pointed out, when Bama's D plays like that it's hard for anyone to get yards. Henry or Elliot would have had similar outcomes had they been in an LSU jersey last Saturday.

His fastest was a 4.32 and his average is currently a 4.42 as of early this year. He was also the fastest Buckeye in spring camp this year. He was a four event state champion in Missouri in high school. Will he do that at the NFL combine? I have no idea, but the fact that someone his size (he and Fournette both) can be that fast and make cuts and power through means they are both awesome. Does Fournete block like Elliott because Elliott can also block (I'm not saying he doesn't, I'm simply asking), which makes him a complete back. I guess if you want to ignore stats and say he will only get slower, I take it Fournette will only get faster, right?

Below Henry...LOL. You have no way of knowing if he would have had a similar outcome, but I will say this, he made Bama's defense look silly last year, so whatever.

You guys are just :hater: 's. It's ok, you're allowed to admit it. It's amazing the hate OSU gets, ignorance must be bliss.

Only a homer would see a response of "Elliot is a great back and easily top 5 who are all interchangeable for the most part because the top 5 is so elite" as a knock on Elliot. In a thread about Bama football that morphed into a talk about Bama/LSU matchup no less. That hardly qualifies as hating, lol. OSU is a good team and Elliot is an elite back. I hate OSU. But they are still good.

Touché. You LOVE OSU. Fixed it for ya :)

But seriously, it was the Elliott isn't as good as Fournette comment that got me fired up. I admit, I did hijack the thread though. I'll surrender for the sake of the thread.

They are ranked 4 because Saban is a butt lover:)

I think Navy is better, if I used the transient property.

    Old miss beats Bama
    Memphis beats old miss
    Navy beats Memphis

    Therefore navy beats Bama:)

Coming down the stretch who wants to play a team that can pound the football and stop the other teams running attack? Not many.

Agreed. It's crazy how different the Professional and College levels differ. Both on ability and strategy.

Henrey or Elliott win the trophy. You must be able to win the big ones to get the hardware.
