My new bow has a Biscuit rest..I'd prefer a drop away like my other bow has, but I've gotta deal for now.

I've been shooting 2" vanes through this biscuit, and it's pretty consistent.

Would 4" vanes change anything ?

4" vanes should not change anything through a biscuit.

Aren't the biscuits detrimental to arrow performance ?

It won't be a problem. Both my sons use the whisker biscuit with 4" vanes.

Better glue and prep of vane and shaft will solve that problem.

I will pass that on to him. I'm going to stick with my drop away. No friction gas got to be better right ?

I may be in the minority but my testing shows me to use feathers through a WB.Yea,you may need to fletch arrows a little more but the tuning issues I saw with Blazers and other fletching was eliminated with feathers.

Once I put feathers on,I no longer had to set the rest up in a way that "I" don't like.

I still don't like the WB but if I were forced to shoot one,I would have feathers on my arrows.

I always put a small dap of glue in the front of the vane/feather.

This is what my 'live in expert' is telling me. I shot today and went over my bow making sure all was good...They shot fine from 20-50..I only shot 6 arrows at 50 but they were all in a 4x4" section of tape that I stuck on the target. For me, thats outstanding shooting.

I have a bisket. In a drawer somewhere. The marks all over my 55/75 gold tips with 4" vanes showed me just why my arrows were cork-screwing. Odd flight was a thing of the past as soon as I put on a decent dropaway. $.02

I wouldn't shoot anything but blazers through a biscuit, but that's just me, and I won't own a bow with a biscuit on it anyhow. Those fletches get torn up, there are going to be "some" tuning issues. If feathers would got through the biscuit without being destroyed, then I'd think they'd be the best option as well, but I can picture about 10 shots and the feathers are trashed.

^^ I shoot feathers through my biscuit and have used the same practice arrows since july, probably shot them each over 100 times through the WB. The feathers are all still there, look a little worn out, but i wouldnt doubt that those practice arrows aren't my best four arrows. My .02

That's the nice thing about feathers. They can look ragged as heck but still do their job.
