Jesus was the only successful shooter of Rage 3 blades in history... aside from myself, of course. :)
It was written in the Bible or something!

There are a lot of failures with rages because soooooooo many people use them. This is not unusual; and I know many people that kill lots of deer with their Rage broadheads. I'd say the rate of failure due to mechanical malfunction is not so high that it causes people to stop buying them or using them

This has certainly evolved away from the original intent of the OP's question. Rage or no more or no less effective than other expandable broadhead. I personally have had a 100% success rate while using them. I would have not reservations about continuing to shoot them. I have personally made the switch over to G5 Havoc's for certain reasons, but I don't think Rage deserves the bashing the get because I will reiterate my original point that a lot of newbie's pick up a package of Rage and head to the woods with little to no experience. When things go badly, they are looking for excuses and the broadhead is an easy place to put blame. It still all boils down to making the shot. Most broadheads will perform badly if you hit the leg bone, shoulder socket, or ridge on the shoulder blade. Pretty much any broadhead will perform when you shoot through only the rib cage.

I still say Rage should get in the arrow business and sell package deals with the proper weight set up.

But then what would the Rage shooters blame if things didn't go according to plan?

The way I see it, find a style and brand of broadhead that you like, tune your equipment, and practice with your equipment. There are several different styles and brands to choose from today. They all will work. Shot placement and confidence in your equipment and your ability is the key to success. A practice tip will even kill a deer if you hit in the right spot.
