First off I'd like to explain that until this year I've ALWAYS wore a face mask. The face mask has been successful over the years so I am not biased toward anything. A week ago I while drawing back in the tree I was getting picky and couldn't feel my kisser button the way I liked. So after debating with myself this whole season so far about whether or not I should buy face paint I went out and did.

I bought the Camo Fx from the local gas station that sells almost everything including bowhunting supplies and such. I bought the item for $7.99. Which I thought was pricey(although I am like that with everything).

Anyway after using it 3 times I've decided to give it a review.

Ease of use - This stuff is very easy to use. You don't need to be a camo expert or a military oriented sniper personel to figure this stuff out. The 3 stripes give you a great patern on your face in seconds you can paint your face up better than Todd Graff. Just kidding (please don't ban me. :hail:)

Price - This stuff to me is a little pricey. Almost 8 bucks for something you put on and take off in a 3 to 5 hours depending on how long your sit. Plus you have to buy wipes. So that's a little extra. I used the hunter specialty ones.

Cleanup - This stuff is pretty decent to take off. However the only problem is when you put some in your facial hair. It seems to stick to your facial hair fairly well but nothing a shower can't take off. I used the hunter specialty wipes like I mentioned earlier and used a couple of those and it came off quite well. This stuff you don't need to get an SOS pad like the old fashioned camo used to be. However since this stuff is easy to come off be careful about your clothing. I've notice from itching my face here and there it does wipe off onto my gloves so if you're weary about your clothing take notice.

Effectiveness - I however can not be inclined to comment about this stuff since I haven't seen a deer while using it. So that is about the only part of the review that I can't give feedback unfortunately however when I do I will definitely give an update.

Benefits - Don't have to wear a mask so you can feel your kisser button, possibly hear the deer better, and you look awesome like the BHOD Guys while hunting! just kidding on the last part. Again Please don't ban me. :)

Drawbacks - Spend a little extra cash, cleanup can be tasking, and you might not like something on your face.

So after carefully reviewing and testing this product I would give it 3.5 stars out of 5. If it works and the deer don't see me I would give it a solid 4 out 5.

    Thanks for Reading,
    Tim

I think if you compare it to the other camo paints on the market the price is pretty comperable. I love the stuff. Actually have a few different onces that I use and have no plans to change. Super easy and no mess is the way to go! Nice review!

I have seen it at Cabelas before but not all the time and some archery shops carry it. You can always go to www.camofx.com and order direct. They ship for free. If you have an archery shop that you go to that does not carry it but should pm me the contact info and who I should speak to and I can get them all setup!

I used 2 tubes last season and if you think its pricey wait til you get near the end and it just falls out and gets wasted. Lol. That was my biggest concern that near the bottom it seems to not stay in very well. I have since went to the old school HS tubes. Comes in handier since after deer season I do a lot of waterfowling and use a lot more than I do in the deer woods.

yeah if you go to the camofx website you can buy it from there. Probably the best place to shop since the shipping is free. I ordered another stick of the lost camo one. Otherwise amazon has it and even the bh.com store carry's it i think. :tu:

Bh.com does carry it in every pattern except Lost Camo. Because they are not an authorized Mathews dealer they are not allowed to sell it.

How's this stuff feel on your face? Is it heavy like normal face paint? I prefer just to use a burnt cork but it's a dog to get off.

Did the paint thing for a couple years got tired of coming home and having to vigorously wipe it off. Now I'm either rocking a neck gator which I pull down prior to a shot or just pull a bare face.

I'll admit that you can feel it on your face somewhat however I'd almost prefer that than a face mask. The burnt cork is a good idea but I think it'd be too much black for me.

I've been wearing the CamoFX stuff going on 3 years now and I really like it. Extremely easy to put on - only takes a few seconds, and you don't get any on your fingers that you have to wipe off later.

I keep a pack of makeup remover wipes in my truck (yes, the same ones your wife uses) and it takes the paint off in no time - even if it gets in your beard. Extremely easy to use and by far the best stuff I've found for taking it off. Sometimes regular old soap and water just don't cut it.

My only dislike is that it does stay pretty oily/moist and will rub off on your fingers easily if you scratch your face or nose while hunting. Not the end of the world, but it can get annoying.

Until I find something better, I'm sticking with this stuff.
