How important is having your camera(s) camoed out? Think it makes more of a difference for turkey or still not necessary? Pretty sure I can get away with it for deer but did start to worry when it comes to turkey.

To me it seems that something like a camo tape would dull the gloss finish of the camera so it doesn't glare or attract attention when the sun hits it

I have been shooting video for years and have never put any camo on a camera. Straight up black, just like my bows, camera arm, tripod, and most all my gear. Never seems to bother the deer.

I don't get nearly as many turkey on camera as I do deer, but then again my property is mostly all wooded so I guess that's expected. I wouldn't imagine turkey would care one way or another because they are more honed in on movement aren't they? If the camera is there and doesn't move, I wouldn't think they would have a reason to be spooked by it. Even if they do notice it, after being there for a period of time I would assume they will just start ignoring it.

I was hoping to get the camo tape for my XA10 but they discontinued the Lost Camo skin for mine prior to me getting the camera so now I am not as motivated to get Realtree or Mossy Oak.

To me it's the other way around, I think for trail cameras turkeys are less wary of a dark box hanging on a tree than a deer at times. Dark solid colors can draw attention so any chance I get to break something up with a few colors of spray paint I do it. I see some above don't think black will draw attention but in some woods that I hunt black sticks out like a sore thumb, whether it's straps, dark camo clothing, treestands, etc..

Were talking video cameras right? camcorders for filming hunts?

We use camo tape. The camera is going to be ground level and moving for turkeys, so we do what we can to camo it up.

Yes video cameras not trailcams. Thats what I was figuring, especially the big shinny Gopro. Thanks everyone!
