I've got a Canon MiniDV recorder (the small cassette like tapes). I'd like to load the videos on my computer, but no cord was supplied with the camcorder to do it with. Anyone know what kind of cord I need? It's a 4 prong DV connection on the camera, but I don't have the same connection (port) on my computer. Preciate the help..
Possibly something like this... http://www.amazon.com/Firewire-Cable-Travel-Adapter-Converter/dp/B00354MVP0/ref=pd_sim_p_1 Or probably this... http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-F3N401...2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1305337997&sr=1-2
yep sounds like a firewire cable. if you don't have that hook up on your computer it's pretty easy to put one in. if your computer has a port for one...i just put one in mine. what kind of computer do you have? or go back to were you bought it and ask them
Thanks Brett... I do believe it's a firewire cable, but my computer does not have a 4 or 6 pin port. Laptop's a Gateway, bought it late 2010. Looks like that first link goes from a DV port to a USB port, anybody try that before?
I have an older digital camera and it plugs right into the USB port. It transfers still photos and videos no problem. What kind of port do you want to run the cord into NC? Like this? OR one of these ports on the back here.....?
