1390589522988.jpg I am wondering if I put a larger cam on my Jennings split limb would a larger wheel be mandatory/needed?

Also would it be a beneficial modification?
    Thanks 1390589554337.jpg

I'm sure others more knowledgeable than I will chime in, but I'm pretty sure that you need to match sizes to insure your nocking point travels in a straight line. Plus your string length would need to change.

I'm sure it'd be a possible mod, but unless there is some sort of sentimental attachment to the bow, I'd think it'd be cheaper & easier to upgrade the whole bow.

Thanks Fitz. I don't necessarily have a sentimental connection with this bow, I am a typical thinker and constantly modifying my hot rods and motorcycle,
So to change cam and wheel was just a thought. But if I was to change them I definitely would have string, nock and peep all redone accordingly.
Like I say just a thought and I figured I ask before I dove in.

What are you trying to accomplish?

I've done and been around several frankenstein bows. The challenge you will have with doing this is that you will need to custom build a string and cable........and won't really know how long they need to be until you begin tinkering with it. If your an experienced string builder you may be able to find some minimal performance gains, but it's going to take a lot of work and you will still be restricted by the geometry of the bow. You will also likely be changing the poundage of draw on the bow, limb deflections are chosen by the manufacturers for very specific cams and you would be very surprised how much a slightly different cam profile will affect poundage on the same limb.

Thanks for the advice Matt... it was just a thought beingsthough I'm a tinkerer.. sound out of my league and especially for minimal gains.
