Ok does anyone other then myself really think that Cam Newton's comment toward the Female reporter was done out of Malice, Hate...or as the press is spinning it Sexism? And imho him being dropped by Dannon Yogurt is a far fetch and is really overkill. Wow what a sensitive society we are in today
Cam was stupid to say what he did, by now he has to understand that he has to filter everything he says every day. In this day and age what he said was incredibly stupid considering the number of women that cover the game.
I ***********************************************************************************************************************************. I think that might be censored enough not to offend anybody.
He was most certainly stupid for saying it, he should known people would freak out. To me it looked like he just laughed because he isn't used to women asking intelligent informed questions about football, and he is a goofy guy. After the comment he gives a honest professional answer. I feel like if he was just trying to berate her he would have made another smart comment. It's being way overblown. But people eat it up and call in to scream at the top of their lungs "IM NOT SEXIST BUT HE IS". This is why most seasoned pros and coaches never say anything in press conferences. Then people complain no one ever says anything lol Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I don't get into the fake anger social media machine that runs 24/7 in today's world, so all the keyboard cowboys can tells us how mad they are about every little thing. Cam made a dumb comment, I am sure he'll do it again, LOL moving on.
Stupid probably so, but I don’t think he was or did it out of putting her down. Seriously kinda like the first time You here a child say a curse word... more times then not we laugh cause it sounded strange.. same here imho... it is possible he did find her saying routes to be funny.
I've never been a Cam fan. He's a spoiled, entitled baby. I didn't think he would amount to much in the NFL and he proved me wrong for a season or two, but hasn't really been the same sense. He shouldn't have said it because anything you say will get construed in the worst possible way these days, but honestly what would a women, or most of the male reporters know about running wide receiver routes. They wouldn't know anything, and I think that was more what he was probably getting at. I think these pro athletes get tired or reporters acting like they know more about the game than they do. I think they see it as the reporter trying to show everyone how much they know, and the athletes are just laughing at them the whole time.
I think he was kmore shocked by a female asking a real intelligent question instead of the normal how do you feel questions, a kindergartner coukld ask some of these questions from female sports reporters, I do not blame him
Considering most male reporters have never worn shoulder pads either not sure where the line is drawn?
I personally have never really seen the reason why a athlete has to do interviews right after the game and if not they are fined....in any sport but more so football (with all the emotions left on the field) I think some type of discretion needs to be given to them....things are said that were said out of emotion and or anger, not hate or sexism etc......again, I'm not pampering todays athlete (I think they are all a bunch of babies at times) but I think in this case alone it was and is blown way out of proportion and got out of hand fast..
