Well I got egg on my face, LOL If I would have know Uncle Trigger was out hunting his spot I would have not been so bold, LMAO.

Wind was SW perfect for me, he hunts South East of my stand and blows his scent across half the woods. I seen 4 deer, who were moving pretty good.

I was talking to UT and we watch a huge doe run from our woods and across street, she did a 180 and booked back across. He said what happen, I said the guy across the street knows as much about wind as you do, LOL 15 mins later he comes out and we was blowing his scent right at the doe, I just giggled. They are doing a deer drive in the morning, so I am done until next weekend.

I have egg on my face, I called my shot and failed

Never made it out this afternoon. Wasn't feeling good. Feel better now so will be back out in the morning. As for calling my shot for tomorrow... I think I just wait and text someone tomorrow. :)

On the evening of Nov 11th I had a solid 160+ standing 25 yards behind me that never gave me a shot. Now that MO firearms season is over, I'm going back after him this weekend. I'll call it, he is going down.....if I see him.

    Congrats PT.

I killed a rat with a muzzy through it's neck. Then I killed another rat by taking it's head off with a shovel. :)

(burning off a brush pile on the field edge.. rats had nested underneath it. We have a zero rat tolerance policy here.)

My mom came down so I still haven't been bowhunting for about two weeks. :( Maybe tomorrow.

It's a long, long, long story and I'll get to that later in another thread, but I promised at least 50 points for Team# 17 and I delivered.:)

Congrats John! Your text message was cut-off or just really, really cryptic. I had a dream you found your doe tho'. I can't even kill deer in my dreams... but at least you are. :D

I took tomorrow off from work so I am still working on it.

So far I have passed on a spike, a forky, young 3 pt, two 2.5 year old 4 pts, doe fawn and 2 does over Thanksgiving weekend. One 3.5 year old 5 point that I had no shot at even if I wanted at 10 yards. I also saw a very mature 3x4 at 50 yards that should be taken out of the gene pool.

Tomorrow no passing on does. I think. I only have one more and was going to save it for when a friend comes up for a Xmas hunt but it would be nice to get it done now.

No big buck sighting but manage to shoot a doe at 14 yards and see her tip over at 40 yards. Was a fun hunt as I had another big doe on the other side of my make shift ground blind at 8 yards at the same time. I don't care what anybody says... having two does that close hunting on the ground equals a heart pumping good time when you don't get busted and it works out. The does don't miss nothing compared to a buck here and more times then not... bust you at that range.

Well boys I am going to have to crawl back here with my tail between my legs, I came about as close as you can on making it happen. My first night back to Illinois had a 145/150 8pt come in to 30 yards erpted to stop him and he about did a summer sault running back 40 yards and no shot. Then I had 2 days later a nice 140 8pt come 400 yards across a field only to cut into the woods 60 yards from my tree stand so I guess that makes me the so close guy this year and no longer the closer. Anybody got a good recipe for tag soup??Walt
