Its getting too damn hot here, we had some rain and the grass is getting too tall to see the sheds. Im still getting pictures of buck with antlers still. If the tree rats dont eat them all, there will be a lot of shed found after season this year. Its been a pretty good year, and I hope I see some of these bucks next year!
Looked around Friday afternoon and in about 1.5 hours I was sweating and ready to leave. Can definitely relate, minus that surplus of antlers. What do you do with antlers after you find them? Keep them? Sell them?
Where are you guys finding these. Ive been up on the platte, republican and surrounding creeks and nada.
I found all of these by weeping water NE Been out every weekend since the end of season, got lots of miles on my boots this year. I really dont do anything with the antlers except decorate my house...haha. My girl friend wants me to make a chandaler with all of them. Im hoping to find some more when im out mushroom hunting this year, but its a wierd year...the grass is almost to high for the mushrooms already and the season is just starting.
I'm like you, I've found one all year and it was old and chewed up. Smack is like a god to me when it comes to shed hunting. However, a guy I know went down to Beatrice and found 3 in just a few hours. It makes me feel like I don't suck when people post the pictures with antlered bucks. I just pretend that all the bucks in my area still have their racks. I find all sorts of stuff when I'm out walking whole deer legs, old golf balls, mouse jaws, deer hair, rabbit fur, everything but buck antlers. The way I see it, maybe this is the worst shed hunting season ever (not that smack would know) and if I can make it through this season and still want to hunt next season, it'll be way easier.
