Gun starts here in MI in the morning. I was setup between the two corn fields today hoping to catch one walking between the two fields.
Just like yesterday I did not see a deer all morining, then around 1:30 PM the farmer showed up and started to harvest the corn. I was on the west end, the wind was out of the east today. I needed to be on the other side, I had two choices, hussle it up and sweat to death and setup on the other side or call it a first season. Being I have a good deer, I decided to call it.

I came down and talk to Delbert(yep his real name) and we talk about deer and the one I shot. He told me a story that brought a smile to my face, he said in 2007 when he picked this corn a huge 8 point came out swam across the river and layed on the bank and watch him pick the corn, I laugh and he looked at me, I said "I hate that #$%^$%^ deer:p.

Thanks for sharing my experiance with me this year, we had some ups and downs, but I had some fun, and I hope brought a bit of laugh to your day.

To end I went the entire year with out falling in the river, well yesterday I fell in the damn river and hunted with wet pants all night:cool:

Second season starts Dec 1st. :D

But you had a great year Germ. Congrats again!

Oh.. and ya gotta love farmers names. I've met quite a few Herman's.. Earl's.. Dwight's.. and Herb's.. and the such in my day in the field. I swear they have there own baby naming book.

Hopefully you will nail Mr. Mass before the end of the season. You will have to keep us updated on how many different bucks you see after gun season. Both up and commers and mature bucks.

I enjoyed the in tree photos, Gary. Congrats on a great first half. I'll be back out around mid December, which is a few days after muzzleloader ends here. Good luck in the second half.
