called my fourth buck of the season in this morning after i saw him following a doe on a power line. i grunted at him twice and he stopped and looked both times but continued to follow the doe. then i gave hime 3 estrous bleats with tending grunts and he seemed alittle bit more interested but not sold yet. i went for the last trick i had and i gave him a buck roar followed by a snort wheeze and i saw him turn around and sprint right at me! he was a decent 7 point and ran within 18 yards of my stand and kept looking around.. he went on my right instead of my left though so i was not presented a shot. i dont think rut is in full swing yet cause if it was i wouldnt have been able to pull him off of that doe. i sure hope it kicks in soon though...

Calling in a buck is an awesome experience, especially when you can visually see what's going on the whole time. 90% of the time for me im hunting thick cover and the bucks usually just bust out of nowhere. Better be ready!

oh im ready. i saw 2 bucks cruising this powerline this morning both of them decent deer and at this point i just want a rack in my hand so the next legal buck that walks by is mine. so i found a good tree that i can use my climber on that gives me a 20 yard shot to the powerline and like a 25 yard shot to a rub line with some scrapes. hopefully they are cruising that same powerline later this evening :)
