Hey guys Im wondering if someone can answer this question? Im shooting a Hoyt Alphamax 32 with a factory installed string stop. Every four to five shots the cable will slide past the "bumper" at the end of the string stop just barely. The total diameter of the bumper is just under the size of a quarter and has a groove in the end to catch the cable. The string only goes past on the left side, and like i said its barely going past the rubber bumper at the end of the string stop barely. The cable has a alpha shock string silencer at the bottom and a G5 peep at the top. The top alphashock was removed for the peep to be installed. It weighs as much as a string leach so i dont think that would cause the bottom of the cable to be weighted a little more? If anyone knows if this is normal or somthing that can repair it let me kow. Thanks! Josh
Is the string stop centered on the string? I have the same setup with an Alphamax 35 and have never had that happen.
Normally it's caused by too much pressure against the stopper. Slide the carbon rod into the riser, moving the stopper away from the string. The string should be just off of the stopper.....by a hair.
Im a rutard. The stealth shot as I found it to be called by fuse archery (string stop) rotated. Yes I tried to adjust it myself and reomved it from the bow. I did not however turm the carbon rod down and then twist the rubber bumper to which I thought I had tried. Clearly I did not do it correctly but the extremely knowledgable and polite guys at Steves Gun and Archery in Columbia Tennessee corrected the problem and lended a second set of eyes. Now were up and running again and shhoting like the amazing hoyt machine it is. I just didnt put two and two together. So hoyt guys if this happend turn the carbon rod and adjust the rubber bumper together and it should work if this happens to you. Thanks for the help guys.
