Hey guys I use to be pretty active on this site and I lost my login info so I just decided to make a new account. I know I could recover it but different story for a different time

My question is about the Cabela's Tags Program....Has anyone ever used it and is that the easiest way of going about getting in a bunch of lotterys? Any advice would be appreciated!

I don't use any tag program, either cabelas or otherwise. I prefer to handle all my applications on my own. I make appx 20 different applications yearly. If was considering using a a tag service, I would several of the other services to cabela's, both in cost and personal service.

I too would prefer Other services to TAGS if that's the route you want to go, but honestly it's pretty easy to do yourself. There are free reminder apps that track all state draws like got my tag. Just decide what animals you'd like to realistically go for, how much you are willing to part with in annual fees and how much cash you can front per year for anywhere from 2-6 months. Come up with a game plan from there. I was aggressive at first and regret it now, once I draw some tags I'm backing out of most of the points game. I'm not a huge trophy hunter so getting a premium tag does nothing for me. If you would shoot a 330" bull in a heartbeat there is absolutely no reason to put in for 10-20 years for the top AZ unit. Same with mulies. If you are looking for an early season alpine bow hunt, it's a waste to get more than 2-4 points in CO. I'm sitting on 7 now and prob won't go for another 4-5 years so I have to keep accumulating or loose them. Plan what where and most importantly WHEN you'd like to do these hunts then build points accordingly.

Also be realistic, you could put in for 7-10 states for a bighorn tag for 30 years and still never draw a single tag if you are just getting into it now. It's the cold hard truth which many people are duped into believing is still not the case
