Man I need a grinder. I ground 15 pounds today at the Mexican food joint up the street. It's the most legit grinder I have ever seen. Took like 4 seconds. This thing stood three feet tall with a five in round grinding plate. I can't even begin to imagine how much it's worth. But if the health department caught him doing it they would shut him down. So.... In respect for my friend the owner I must buy my own. It's a shame tho that is one hell of a grinder. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
And yes this looks like a good deal. Only problem is that I've been spoiled I guess so I will hold out for a bigger one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
Prob cost an arm and a leg though. I like to be able to put mine back in the cabinet when Im done with it.
Yeah I know. I'm just jaded a little I guess. I did buy a hand grinder last year. I hadn't leared to keep the blade and plate in mineral oil yet. Basically it cost me $50 to grind once then completely rusted out. Whoops. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
IMHO a 65.00 grinder with the claim heavy duty??? It's laughable. So is the grinder. I'm sure its just like all of the ones our customers bring in smelling like burnt electrical wiring. All of the china built grinders need excessive H.P. to grind with, unlike a truly heavy duty grinder which is likely half the H.P. and a well built transmission to make the grind through your trimmings in a short amount of time. We have tested many brands and have found the ProCut/Tor-rey grinder to be the best built for the money. These units can be passed on to the next generation. Anything under 300.00 will be lucky to see 5 years of moderate use.
I have there older heavy duty grinder I got for roughly 90 bucks. Thing has grinded dozens of deer over the years and runs like a champ. 5+ years and almost 20 deer is well worth the money for that thing. Not everyone is looking to break that 300 dollar mark to satisfy your 5 year claim.
I have a 1 hp Cabelas Grinder and it was the best investment that I have made with regards to meat processing equipment. My friends and I make over 100lbs of sausage and brats every year and a good grinder is an invaluable tool! I also believe a $100 grinder wont last. I have one laying in my garage somewhere.
My wife bought me the 1.5 HP Cabelas grinder, so far it's been bullet proof...had it about 5 years now. Before that I went though a couple cheaper ones that didn't hold up.
I got a 3/4 hp Cabelas Commercial grinder last year and have done 2 deer with it so far. Its been really good and quick. I dont need anything bigger as I can hardly keep up with this one while feeding the venison and beef fat through. I wanted a bigger one not that I need it but just because but the extra money I just couldnt do it. Plus the 3/4 hp was just over 300 last year after christmas.
